Encourage. Connect. Grow.

Working on your own and weaving work into a busy home life can be tough. Whether you’re working at home or in a small office, or wasting half your day commuting, it’s easy to feel disconnected and isolated. Work Loft encourages an active community where you can participate as much or as little as you want at that moment. Our space is designed to facilitate connections between members and we actively seek ways to help you make new contacts and open new doors.

The People

Work Loft’s Members are active in a variety of fields. Some think of coworking spaces as homes for entrepreneurs and start-ups, when in fact those categories represent only a handful of the folks who define our Community. We have both independent professionals and remote employees of larger firms here:

Marketing Experts • Financial Advisors • Software and web developers • Health care technology professionals • Technology salespeople • Lawyers • Writers • Real Estate Developers • Students (mainly masters level for architecture, medicine, law, and conflict management) • Event Planners • Non-profits • A filmmaker, teacher, and critic

...and yes, a few very cool start-ups!

Why People Work Here

People are social creatures. It’s just a fact that working from home gets lonely. Being around others breaks up the day with light social activity, and working from a beautiful professional space helps us up our game. Remember the phrase ‘Dress nice, test nice’ from school? When we show up at our best, we deliver our best. Not to say our members are coming to work in suits and ball gowns - not at all! But it’s nice to give the sweatpants a break and show up ready to bring it! Commutes in our area are getting worse, not better. If they have the flexibility, folks are opting to stay local more and more. Instead of spending 2 - 3 hours per day in the car or on the train, that time can be poured into a productive work day and getting to home, friends, or hobbies sooner than before. This is a significant contributor to a happy work/life balance.

Local Community

In addition to providing workspace, Work Loft supports local businesses, non-profits, and community organizations by offering our meeting and event spaces at community-friendly prices. Our rates are designed to help gently offset our cost of operating the facility. For those who need a professional and affordable place to meet clients or colleagues, this is a tremendous value. For organizations who may not have a facility they call home, ours can be leveraged to their advantage. This is a very important way that Work Loft is connecting with and supporting the wider community outside our membership!
